Billy I've been drawing all my life. Art is fun to do and it sounds good in my heart. My mind is like an engine. When I am at home and my mind is racing, drawing is like a tune-up for me. Art makes me focus on stories and then I know what to draw. I hope my drawings keep people happy and out of trouble. People need to make art to have fun.

Eddie Martin It is fun and fantastic to create art. I used to never create drawings. I did not draw, but now I'm designing characters for greeting cards and tee shirts. I don't like to draw regular people. I want my characters to be very different from myself, to be scary or have special powers.

Tammy Ball Art is fun. Art lets you be yourself or somebody else, whatever you need to be. Making art gets your hands all dirty, but besides that art is pretty safe. Pictures have special powers: they can make you laugh, cry, or turn bright red. Artists get to be weird and difficult. Artists get to wear pink socks and orange sweaters on the same day. Artists get to eat snacks whenever they choose. I am a natural artist because I am all these things and I make paper look good.

Janis Janis can read and write, but she rarely communicates using words. She loves to draw and paint, especially pictures of Elvis. When she was shown this photograph of herself and her drawing, she said, "Yep. That's me." Janis pointed out the jumpsuit and sideburns. Janis wants a jumpsuit for herself, and she thinks her brother would look good in one too.

Zora I like to draw flowers and animals on my farm. I tried to draw a horse once, but I could not do it. I am good at drawing butterflies. I like to draw them with magic markers because they really show up. I don't have a favorite piece. I like them all. The art program at Shortbus Studio is really fun.
